This debut album produced by Ralph Stokes and Karl Thompson pre-dates the Live Plexus group. Produced electronicaly with live spoken word, these tracks spawned the basis for what was to become an entirly new sort of musical act. Wrriten by Ralph Stokes and Karl Thompson. Engineered and Produced by Ralph Stokes The Plexus are an electronic band, using live guitars, bass guitar, drums and passionate words combined with the wonders of modern technolgy, they create a sound that is both origional and unique. PLEXUS; n, network, esp. of nerve fibers etc. PLEXUS; cross, crossing, connection, network. PLEXUS; Plexus (the rosy crucifixion) by Henry Miller (1963) (what Karl was reading when we formed!) The band first formed in the midst of a psychedelic journey into the vortex of guitarist and producer Ralph Stokes, where unexpectedly, Karl Thompson had gone into "Poetrifikation" about life, the universe and everything. Only he was too wasted too pronounce any words properly which remains a problem to this day. The following morning (more like evening actually), with a bad head, The Plexus was formed, words and music flowing as one, a crossing, a connection of creativity. Soon after their first few gigs The Plexus decided to take things further and begin using live instruments to create the music for the inspiring words and employed the talents of Robbie Mcleoud (aka Rob Shamainac) on bass guitar, while Ralph began performing live guitar parts. A year down the line, a summer of love later, and the legacy With the line-up complete The Plexus are the most ear-melting, brain drooling and philosophical live electronic act you will ever experience.
